The film highlights Van Damme's high-kicking karate and tae kwon do fighting abilities including in a climactic final encounter with the Sandman. Death Warrant also stars Robert Guillaume, known for his lead role on the popular TV comedy Benson, as one of Van Damme's fellow inmates. Other stars include Cynthia Gibb, Art LaFleur and Patrick Gilpatrick.</p><p>The film is also a showcase of early work from David S. Goyer, who went on to write the Blade trilogy of films starring Wesley Snipes, as well as work on Christopher Nolan's Batman reboots.
